Collector Information
and FAQ
One of One works
Each chair is created as a one-of-one work.
No editions, no reproductions, and no repeated compositions.
The imagery, placement, and finish are unique to that single piece, ensuring that every chair exists as an individual object rather than part of a series.
The baroque armchairs selected for HELBLING works have appeared across theatre, television and editorial interiors, including Moulin Rouge! The Musical, the Netflix series Bridgerton, Channel 10 productions and features within Vogue Living.
Pricing
HELBLING works are created as collectible originals and are positioned within a considered contemporary art price range.
Chairs are priced according to complexity, surface, and image detail.
Cream and ivory chairs begin at $5,500.
Coloured chairs and chaise lounges range from $6,500–$8,500.
Each piece is unique and never recreated
Design Heritage
Each chair begins with a handcrafted frame produced in Indonesia, selected for its traditional carving and structure.
The finishing and artistic work for each HELBLING chair is hand-painted in Australia within the artist’s studio practice.
This combination of artisan manufacture and original artwork allows each chair to exist as both a functional object and a singular piece of art.
Shipping
Domestic and international delivery can be arranged individually. Logistics are discussed privately to ensure safe arrival.
Package & Delivery
Every piece is carefully wrapped and prepared for transport using protective materials suited to fine art furniture.
Materials & Finish
Chairs are upholstered primarily in micro velvet, selected for its durability, depth of colour, and long-term resilience. While alternative fabrics can be sourced on request, micro velvet is preferred for its stability over time compared to many synthetic leathers.
The carved timber frames are produced by specialist furniture makers using traditional Rococo-inspired forms. Each frame is hand-finished before being individually prepared, painted, and sealed in studio, allowing the artwork and upholstery to sit seamlessly within the sculptural structure.
Custom Orders/ Commissions
Custom commissions allow collectors to select upholstery tones, materials, and frame finishes. Each chair is produced to order, hand-painted in studio, and released following individual preparation and delivery arrangements.
Are the chairs functional?
Yes. HELBLING chairs are fully constructed furniture pieces and may be used with care. While designed to be sat on occasionally, each work is created as a collectible piece of art and is best suited to considered interiors where form and presence are equally valued.
Care
Micro-velvet upholstery
Micro-velvet is chosen for its soft matte finish and durability. To maintain the surface, gently vacuum using a soft brush attachment or lightly brush in the direction of the nap. In the event of a spill, blot carefully with a clean, dry cloth — avoid rubbing or harsh cleaning agents. Professional upholstery cleaning is recommended if deeper care is required.Painted surface
Each painted area is sealed with protective artist-grade finishes designed to support longevity. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth only. Avoid chemical cleaners, excessive moisture or abrasive contact. As with any artwork, natural ageing and subtle patina may develop over time and form part of the character of the piece.Use & seating
Placement
For best preservation, avoid prolonged direct sunlight, high humidity or outdoor exposure.
